Waverley Lake Revitalisation

The Farday Connect Community Action Group is currently partnering with the City of Launceston around the development of the Waverley Lake Community Space. Our action group ask council to consider a number of improvements including:

  • new playground spaces

  • more trees providing greater shading

  • improved tracks and walking paths

  • power upgrades for events

  • new signage

  • disabled access

  • exercise equipment for seniors

  • improve lighting

  • greater parking

Sow it Begins
Garden Bed

In partnership with Starting Point Neighbourhood House, Community Housing Ltd , and the City of Launceston. We have developed the Sow It Begins Garden Starter Kits Projects.

This project aims to build and deliver to residential homes 18 community raised garden beds along with starter kits and seasonal vegetables. These beds will create a network of novice growers across the northern suburb community, as well as establish connections to local community gardens.

The MACs community welding shed is the joint project in partnership with the Ravenswood community (Starting Point Neighbourhood House) and many other supporters.

This initiative aims to build on its current capacity by creating a fully equipped space for welding projects to be undertaken and help community members to learn the welding skills in a safe and supporting environment.

Seed Exchange

The Seed Exchange is a project developed by a passionate local community member in the Northern Suburbs of Launceston.

This project aims to support the establishment of local seed banks where residents from the community can both withdraw seeds donated by local growers and also deposit home grown seeds of varies types to the libraries.
